Mary "Micki" Moran, J.D.
Micki Moran is the founding partner of The Child & Family Law Center of the North Shore. She dedicates her practice to children and families who need effective and capable legal advice and representation. Her areas of experience include special education, school discipline, juvenile justice, mental health and complex child custody matters. Micki was the attorney in T.H. v. Palatine case( autism).She founded this law practice on the philosophy that children and their families often require a multi-disciplinary approach to intervention. She has extensive litigation experience in a variety of forums. Micki volunteers as a board member to other agencies committed to children's legal issues and is on the adjunct facility of Loyola Law School. Under her direction, the office has developed a network of professionals who collaborate with our staff to address the often complex needs of children and families. The staff that she has brought together understands that legal advocacy is only one component of an effective intervention strategy. She is admitted in Illinois and Ohio.
Joseph T. Scally, M.A., J.D.
Joe Scally is returning to the Child and Family Law Center of the North Shore after serving for nearly three years as the Director of Training and Evaluation for the Positive Coaching Alliance, a not-for-profit formed at the Stanford University Athletic Department with the goal of enhancing the life lessons young athletes gain through sports. Joe has devoted his career to improving the lives of children and families through his work as an attorney and child therapist. He was a member of the original Parenting Assessment Team at the University of Illinois; Clinical Co-director of the Clinical Evaluation and Services Initiative, a project of the University of Chicago and Northwestern Law School that improved the quality and delivery of mental health information in the Juvenile Court; and has taught courses in mental health law, assessment, ethics, and testifying to both graduate and undergraduate students. Joe is an experienced litigator. Practice areas include juvenile justice, special education, mental health, and guardianship. He enjoys and believes in the multi-disciplinary approach the Child and Family Law Center brings to client’s concerns. Joe’s goal is to provide effective legal services that result in opportunities for clients to improve their lives and the lives of their families
